Greg when he won his 2 iphones

Welcome to Free Samples. We are 2 house-mates committed to scouring the internet for realĀ  free stuff so you you don’t have to.

Browse our categories and take a look at what companies give away to try and get your business.

We like free things, we know you like free things, let’s all enjoy free things together.

What’s the deal?

Last year after Greg won 2 Iphones from the same competition we became addicted to trying to get free stuff online. Since then we’ve won a Samsung LCD TV, Xbox 360, an Ipad, an Iphone 4 and many different gift vouchers. Enter competitions here.

We also sign up for free trials and samples of various stuff and have come to be able to spot the real offers from the scams.

Lately we’ve taken to completing paid surveys online for cash and find it to be a pretty easy way of earning a few extra bucks – in our best week we earnt $760 just from filling out surveys between the 2 of us.

Free Samples was born out of a need to have a list of legitimate and real offers, unfortunately the majority of samples and competitions are fake and we got sick of wasting our time so we decided to make this site. We want to help people like us find real offers easily.

Entering so many competitions and signing up for samples we quickly became good at spotting the legit offers and recognising the ones that are a waste of time.

How do you spot the scam offers?

  • Ad banners

What does the offers Ad banner look like? Does it say something like ‘CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE THE 1 000,000th VISITOR YOU WON $10,000!’ Ask yourself if it feels like a legit offer, if it doesn’t then it probably isnt.

  • If it seems to good to be true, it probably isn’t

Before signing up consider what the advertiser is getting. Companies are willing spend money on prizes or offer free trials because it is in their best interest to do so. If there is no clear benefit for the advertiser you should probably steer clear from it.

  • Be careful entering your phone number

We learnt this one the hard way, enter your phone number and forget to tick ‘I don’t want to receive SMS’s’ and you have just automatically agreed to receiving chargeable SMS messages to your phone bill. Companies can charge what they like per SMS and it’s all in the terms and conditions, it’s also very hard to unsubscribe from these services.

  • Pay to join a survey

You don’t have to pay to join a paid survey site. Quite the opposite, these companies are being paid for their market research which is why they are able to pay you for completing surveys.

  • Credit Card details / auto renewal

For some offers, particularly free trials you need to enter your credit card. Our general rule is to only use a credit card on reputable brands and remember that companies offer free trials / samples of stuff, ask for your credit card and bank on the fact that you will forget to cancel your free subscription once the trial has finished. Make sure you remember to cancel any offers you don’t wish to continue after the trial has ended.

Report a broken link / fake offer

We do our best to only post the best and legitimate offers, however we can’t get it right 100% of the time. If you find a broken link or scam offer please let us know so we can remove it – info @ freesamples.net.au
